Training Paws / Our Philosophy

Dog and Puppy Obedience Training

Training Paws - Dog Training Philosophy

Animals are smarter than you think!

What is our philosophy? ...Positive Motivation Works!

Our Philosophy is based on extensive study which shows animals learn effectively through positive reinforcement and motivation.  Our dog training technique is simple,  we first request the desired behavior; we show your dog the desired behavior; we reward the dog when he/she achieves the desired behavior! This is positive reinforcement.

Training Paws is excited to provide this in-home dog training and behavior modification service.  We travel to the homes of dog owners, providing the convenience of working within the comfort of their home as well as affording them the ability to incorporate dog training into their busy schedules. This service offers dog owners, training tools they can implement immediately to teach their dogs how to modify some simple behavior issues.

We ONLY use positive reinforcement techniques!

We use dog and puppy harnesses, head halters or buckle collars at all times.

We  NEVER EVER use Aversive training methods (below)

Educating pet owners is the focus of Training Paws. We teach dog owners why they should train their dogs, additionally the importance of using positive reinforcement for training.

Explaining the importance of training puppies as early as 10-22 weeks old - why?...    The puppy developmental learning phase has a very short window. It pretty much closes at around 22 weeks of age. Additionally its much easier for dog owners to work with a puppy at 10-22 weeks it is imperative  to start training at this age,to avoid any adolescent and adult behavior problems occurring.
