What is a dog behavior consultation?
Dog Behavior Consultations play a crucial role in helping us gain a deeper understanding of your dog or puppy’s behavior. Our certified professional dog trainer/behaviorist will arrange a convenient time to visit your home and conduct a comprehensive behavior assessment.
During the session, our experienced trainer will carefully observe not only your dog’s behavior but also the interactions between you, your family, and your dog. We value your input and encourage the participation of all family members to ensure that all aspects and needs are addressed effectively.
The behavior consultation typically lasts up to 1 hour, allowing sufficient time to thoroughly assess the situation and provide tailored recommendations based on our observations and expertise.
Who would benefit from a behavior consultation?
A behavior consultation is highly beneficial for both dog and puppy owners. We strongly encourage the presence of ALL family members during the initial consultation. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to share their goals and challenges, as their input is crucial to creating an effective training plan.
During the consultation, we also observe how the entire family interacts with the dog. These interactions serve as the foundation for developing a comprehensive and tailored training plan that addresses the specific needs of your dog or puppy.
By considering the dynamics within the family, we can provide the most effective strategies for successful behavior modification and training.
What happens after the behavior consultation?
- You will receive a customized behavior training plan, detailing your dogs current behavior challenges along with training goals.
- Training options will be provided within the plan so you can decide which works best for you and your family.
- Once you decide to move forward we will work out a day and time that suits everyone’s calendar.
- The dog trainer will then come to your home for 1hr, once a week for the number of weeks chosen from the training plan.
